Van Speijk is a police series in the tradition of Hill Street blues. Realistic, sober, with nerve-racking tension and sometimes dull days. In other words: day to day life at the police station. Police Station Van Speijk is situated in Amsterdam-West, the heart of multicultural Netherlands. The police has to deal with a large variety of nationalities which does not make their work any easier… but it does make it more interesting.
