Following a TVNZ pilot earlier this year, Touchdown’s new gameshow Total Recall has been licensed in Turkey. This marks the first international commission for the format. Total Recall is a memory-based gameshow which pits contestants against one another in a variety of studio games with the aim of testing and improving memory.

The contestants are tested on different types of memory; visual, verbal, long and short-term with viewers encouraged to play at home against the studio contestants. Local producer Limon Yapim, is to make a local version for Kanalturk with the first broadcast scheduled for November. The show will be broadcast in a daily primetime slot.
Touchdown sales executive Thandi Mbali comments: “This deal follows on from our previous deal in this territory for The Chair and demonstrates that Turkish market is innovative and open to new format ideas.“ The deal was brokered with the assistance of local Agent Sera Film. Touchdown sales director Yvonne Pilkington says: “Total Recall hits all the right buttons for gameshows right now-intelligent and fast paced with high viewer involvement. We expect to conclude several more deals for the format at MIPCOM. “
The show has already been picked up in Italy and France by local producer Fremantle, with a pilot in preproduction in France, but further details were not made available.
