EYEWORKS NETHERLANDS WINNER OPENING WEEKEND NEW TV-SEASON27 August 2012
Eyeworks celebrates a great weekend of excellent ratings. Saturday August 25 was the start of a new TV-season in the Netherlands. Strictly Come Dancing, Celebrity Splash and a new local adaption of the Golden Girls premiered on three different channels and all with huge success.
Strictly Come Dancing, hosted by Reinout Oerlemans himself, premiered with 879.000 viewers and the result show reached over 1 million viewers making Nederland 1 the nr. 1 channel of the evening. The show is a local adaption of BBC-format Strictly Come Dancing. The well-known format in which celebrities get paired with professional dancers to compete on the dance floor.
Celebrity Splash is the brand new 2 hour live show in which celebrities battle it out in competition diving. Who is the bravest in diving from a 1,3 or 10 meters platform and who impresses both jury and viewers in making the most beautiful dives? The show on channel SBS6 was the absolute nr. 1 show of the evening with 1,4 million viewers and a market share of 26,8% in the target group 20-49.
Also the same Saturday evening RTL 4 aired the first episode of Golden Girls. Eyeworks produces a remake of one of world best known and appreciated eighties hit comedy. More than 1,2 million viewers watched the hilarious adventures of the four women which resulted in a market share of 25,5% in the target group 20-49.
