In October of 2008, Eyeworks teamed up with Cologne Gemini Film, founded in 1988 by Micha Terjung and Gerhard Schmidt. Now, Eyeworks Germany is one of the most experienced German film production companies in the German speaking and international markets.
For the national TV market, Eyeworks successfully produces TV movies like You Can Never Feel Safe, My Bad Best Friend, The Cat and Patterns & Ambitions. The company also produces successful TV series, such as Marie Brand......, Black Forest Manor, and since 1998 the highly popular detective series Wilsberg, which is the highest rated Saturday night prime time show in Germany. No less than 5.5 Million viewers watch antiquarian Wilsberg solve gripping cases, generating a market share of 18% for broadcaster ZDF, which is 50% above the network's average.
Eyeworks Germany also produced the hit sitcom Das Amt (The Office) and high profile documentaries such as Black And White with world famous journalist Günter Wallraff.
Feature films
Together with European and North American partners, Eyeworks has produced more than fifty mainly English spoken feature films and TV movies for the international TV-market over the past twenty years. The company is now also taking steps to further expand on this vast body of work by producing German feature films for theatrical release.
