The New Batch
The New Batch infiltrates a hotel school, following youngsters between 12 and 18 years old who dream of a future amongst the best in the industry. The most exciting part of their education is the internship in top restaurants, close to home or abroad. In the end, they will leave the school as a top chef or maître d’hotel. During one school year, we follow the ups and downs of several pupils in their confrontation with the catering industry. We discover the school through the eyes of the ‘rookies’ who still have to learn all the tricks of the trade, as well as through those of the seniors taking their first steps into the real world of top gastronomy. At the same time, they learn to live independently, far away from mommy and daddy’s safe haven. The New Batch tells the story of young kids growing up, falling in love and fulfilling their dreams. And, who knows, one of them might soon be the next top chef!
